Description: The Oklahoma Applied Research Support program aids several different types of organizations and businesses through grants to help research innovative technology. The program acts as an accelerator for technology that is sustainable, successful, and has the possibility to become integral to the economy of Oklahoma. This is done by creating an incentive-based funding to allow for growth if certain milestones are met. The funding is done primarily through OCAST and a collaborative organization with some support from the state. The funding from the state is normally used to acquire marketing for the technology.

OARS also offers a competitive award reimbursement contract for one-to-three year R&D projects for organizations and businesses. Funding beyond the agreed contract is subject to the satisfactory annual performance evaluations and funds available for appropriation. The OARS Committee will select all reviewers for evaluations.
